The needs for this space were less defined, so the solutions had to be flexible. Originally a guest room, with relatively fresh paint that did not need to be changed, this extra large bedroom needed to be able to accommodate a range of guests. We needed to maintain a space suitable for guests, friends traveling through, families with children coming to visit, and also accommodate an infant or toddler of either gender. The design focuses on repeating natural elements from outside the windows within the room, attempting to create calm for exhausted travelers and small children alike. Dressers are used in lieu of a traditional changing table to keep the space sophisticated, the gliding recliner is equally suitable for putting your feet up after a flight or rocking a baby in the middle of the night. The end result makes this bedroom the most serene room in the house.
