This apartment design in Ohio City perfectly captures our philosophy of making the most of what you already have. Apartment living is wonderful in that someone else takes care of the four walls and everything that’s affixed to them, but that also means there are no choices for paint or even the tiniest of remodels, so we worked with what was given to us. The goals for this space, just over 700 square feet, included having space for a few guests, floor space for yoga, and a calm atmosphere for working from home, all on a minimal budget. We utilized pieces already owned with options for future upgrades, and as many natural materials and textiles as possible. The television is tucked behind a hand woven tapestry to keep it out of sight until needed, and the coffee table has a lift top, making it double duty for game night or dinner and a movie. The whole design can be implemented for $1,500, and if all the optional upgrades are added on, it’s still under $2,500.
