A Room for the Whole Family
From concept to completion, this project captures an overview of how 526 Design can help with your project. This space is an open concept family room and office for a family with young children and pets, so it is used hard all day, every day. While the space has an excellent footprint, the finishes were worn and dated, and too much open shelving had become the enemy of clutter control. The updated space has larger windows, painted woodwork and special details to meet all storage needs, tucking the wires and clutter behind closed doors.
The new furniture and cabinet layout provides seating for the whole family, storage for games and books, charging stations for electronics, workspace for parent and kids, and space to put all the materials needed to spur on little imaginations. This space will carry the family from homework time to play time, with enough seating to accommodate movie nights and game days alike. Scroll down for before and after photos.

Before
This room had plenty of floor space, but most of the finishes had to go. We started with dark rough cut cedar beams, undersized cabinetry disguised as built-ins, and the windows and flooring were nearing the end of their life. Other than the fireplace brick, this room was a total transformation.
